Ani Art Academy Waichulis is a private educational resource located in Northeastern Pennsylvania to assist aspiring artists in their pursuit of Representationalism. Developed by Anthony J. Waichulis, the Ani Art Academy Waichulis program focuses on the essential fundamentals of draftsmanship, anatomy of form, elements of perception, and various methods of painting. The program encompasses principles applicable to all venues of the realist endeavor including Still Life, Trompe L’oeil, Landscape, Portrait and the Figure. Traditional materials are employed throughout the training process focusing strictly on Charcoal and Oil.
The studio curriculum is divided into 7 sections: Introduction to Drawing, Governing the Material, Anatomy of Form, Natural Forms, Introduction to Painting, Painting Techniques and Endgame.
On average, students can complete the apprenticeship program in three years. However, the intimate setting of Ani Art Academy Waichulis allows for tailoring to fit individual goals. Some areas of focus may require more time (meticulous rendering techniques, etc.) and will increase the length of the program. Prospective students must be willing to attend full time and be extremely dedicated to completion of the training program.
The Ani Art Academy Waichulis has a very small instructor to student ratio, accepting no more than ten apprentices at any given time. We value this format as it allows for a great deal of individual attention. The studio is open weekdays from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm.
It is recommended to notify Ani Art Academy Waichulis of possible interest 1 to 2 years in advance, as there is always a waiting list. All inquiries should be made to firstname.lastname@example.org.
The Language of Drawing DVD 1
The Language of Drawing DVD 2
When we (The Waichulis Studio) released our first instructional DVD, TWS Drawing Clinic: First Steps, we had intended to follow up with three more installments that would offer a collection of simple exercises to enhance one’s painting and drawing skill sets. Now, over a year after the release of First Steps, we find ourselves merged with the newly formed Ani Academies and immersed in a much more ambitious endeavor: to offer the entire Waichulis training program within a seven disc DVD series. Two companion books and custom learning materials are also being produced for this effort.
The first recently completed DVD in this series, The Language of Drawing Volume I, revisits much of the information presented in First Steps, but goes much further in depth with each exercise. Our newly developed, unique workscreen format provides a wealth of insight with each step of our training method. Every challenge presented is designed to offer a significant impact to your drawing and painting dynamic. With an unwavering emphasis on essential fundamentals, procedural efficiency, and material dynamics, each exercise will bring you one step closer to true creative freedom.
While this series is still in development, we are projecting that it will be made available to the public in 2011. We will be sure to post updates and clips along the way and look forward to putting this valuable information in the hands of everyone that can benefit from it.
